I've heard a lot of people say, "Talking to you brings me down" or " you are the reason I'm so sad". I mean they didn't address it to me :P Thats how they generally complain for most of the times they are unhappy. But what they don't realise is more often than not, we are the reason behind our sdness. We let thnigs affect us in every possible way. We forget that we have a choice NOT to be sad. Hapiness is not a momentary thing. It IS a state of mind!
I read this article in the newspaper during Diwali which explained the signifance of the various things we do to celebrate the festival.. like lighting the lamps, bursting crackers etc.
It spoke about how lighting of the lamp signifies what essentially a human should be like. It said every man should be like the wick in the lamp. It requires to be in the oil to be able to get the oil but a part of it must be out for it to be brightly lit. Simiarly a human should be involved in the worldly matters and be a part of the world but yet be detatched enough to shine in this world. I thought it was a great thought. It might go against my previous philosophy that there cannot be shades of gray.. but somehow things become more meaningful when you learn to include different things and make that your ideology!
You can hurt me
You can make me cry
But know for sure
You can never keep me down!
To sum it up, YOU are the reason for your happiness or sadness. The power is in YOU!

Strange, but sadly true.
Why is it that we try to justify everything?? Why does everything have to have a reason? The most common and possibly irritating one being, "This is me, deal with it!". We say what we want, do what we want, hurt whom we want and just when we can't deal with the repurcussions, blame it on the way we're made instead of taking responsibility! ARRRGGGHHH!

This is how bliss feels :-)
For long I've had an emotional baggage.A baggage I couldn't loose and a baggage I couldn't hold on to. But things have suddenly changed and for the better. Its like someone or something just lifted it off of me and it feels good. Feels good to have a light heart and a heart that can feel content again. Content that I am capable of being happy with what I have. Wanting newer experiences but not lusting to the point that I loose my sanity. If I am unable to get my point across, its only because I am insanely happy :-). It should be made illegal for one to be this happy :-).
There are a few people responsible for this new transition in me. I haven't told them that they're one of the reasons for my happiness but they'll know it. Its irrelevant whether I tell them or not.
Mind and heart finally in SYNC!!!

Catch 22
I dream a dream
A dream so dreamy
Misty in the beginning
Clearer towards the end
I dream of a place
A place I call home
A home for hopes
A home for more dreams
A home far away
But not too far from reality
Because every reality
Comes from a dream
I don't need the dream anymore
Because it already feels so real
And it feels real
Because I'm already home..
A dream so dreamy
Misty in the beginning
Clearer towards the end
I dream of a place
A place I call home
A home for hopes
A home for more dreams
A home far away
But not too far from reality

I don't need the dream anymore
Because it already feels so real
And it feels real
Because I'm already home..

New year... New beginning?
Everyone's been saying 2008 has been such an eventful year.I agree. The year started off peacefully and then there were the bomb blasts in different parts of the country, the various accolades we got in sports and then the very disturbing terror attacks in Mumbai .Its a year best forgotten for all the unhappy events that have occured.
The terror attacks have had the most lingering impact on me.For one, it makes me think, what are the leaders of the country doing??To blame them would mean to blame ourselves!!But then thats a fact glaring us in the face.We chose them as leaders. We didn't exercise our right to vote in the right direction. That again brings us to the question,"How do we correct it?"
I can see such a paradox in the scenario of things in our country in the present state. There are IT companies and various other fields where education is such an important thing. Why then do we have leaders who have just completed their elementary education? Why don't we have more learned men/women to lead us?Why have we become so mediocre?
We have "leaders" who talk of "black magic" having been performed against them!!!We have "leaders" who want to blame others for all their mistakes and take credit for things that go well by luck!We don't need "leaders" resigning from their post just because they couldn't handle a situation. Why did they even stand for elections if they didn't have the capacity to go through the whole length? We don't need politicians,we don't need leeches-sucking our money, time and peace. We don't need people telling us when not to party or not to smoke. These are trivial matters when it comes to the horrible attcks our country has been under.
We need people who can tap the true potential of our country to take it to the highest level. We need people who believe in our country. We need people who are willing to make a new beginning and start taking the first step towards glory. We need visionaries. We need people who really care.
This entire post makes me feel like a hypocrite because here I am,sitting cosily in front of my computer, venting my frustration and being critical of our politicians. But then I realise I'm doing the little things which if each one of us practise, can help our country become a better country.I'm not bribing people to get things done,I wear my helmet when I ride my bike,I put the garbage in the bin and not on the road.In doing the small things,I'm ensuring I do the right things when in future I'm faced with much more difficult choices.Like the dialogue in Spiderman,"You always have a choice".
Its in my hand to do everything that I can to take my country to the level I would like to see it.I wish everyone makes this choice. It'll take no time to reach there if we all try :-)
